By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, do not use the App.

HalalCheck is a tool designed to help users identify the halal status of food products. The App offers:

• Barcode scanning to retrieve product information
• OCR scanning to analyze ingredient lists
• Ingredient analysis based on multiple reference databases
• Community voting on ingredient statuses
• Madhab-specific filtering

HalalCheck is NOT a religious authority. By using this App, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Results are indicative only, based on public databases and algorithms
• The App does not replace the advice of an imam or a halal certification body
• You are solely responsible for your dietary choices
• Results may contain errors or be incomplete
• The absence of a flagged ingredient does not guarantee that a product is halal

The App relies on the following sources to analyze products and ingredients:

• Open Food Facts: public product database
• Additive databases: AVS, ARGML, JAKIM, MUI
• Community contributions: user votes on ingredient statuses

These sources may contain inaccuracies. The Publisher does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the data provided.

The App offers the following subscription plans:

• Monthly subscription — recurring, with automatic renewal
• Annual subscription — recurring, with automatic renewal
• Lifetime access — one-time purchase

Subscription terms:

• A free trial of 3 days may be offered for eligible subscriptions
• Payment is charged to your Apple account upon confirmation of purchase
• Recurring subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple account settings
• No refund is provided for the current billing period (managed by Apple)

Without a subscription, the App is limited to:

• 5 barcode scans per day
• 2 OCR scans per day

The App, its content, design, and source code are the exclusive property of The Proper App Company. Any unauthorized reproduction, modification, or distribution is strictly prohibited.

Votes and contributions submitted by users are provided under a free license. The Publisher reserves the right to moderate, edit, or remove any community content at its sole discretion.

The Publisher shall not be held liable for any dietary decisions made based on the App's results.

The Publisher shall not be held liable for:

• Errors or omissions in product or ingredient data
• Any decisions made based on the App's results
• Any direct or indirect damages related to the use of the App
• Any data loss due to technical malfunction
• Temporary unavailability of third-party services (Open Food Facts, community server)

The Publisher reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the App or community features in case of abuse, misuse, or violation of these Terms.

The processing of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

The Publisher reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will take effect upon publication on this page. Continued use of the App after modification constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or enforcement shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent French courts.
